Position: HORTICULTURAL TECHNICIAN
Reporting To: Maintenance Operations Manager and Field Supervisors
Description: The Horticultural Technician is a member of the horticultural crew who performs highly detailed horticultural tasks on client properties. The Horticultural Technician is knowledgeable regarding plant material, proper pruning techniques, and insect and disease management.
Responsibilities:
• Perform highly detailed horticultural services on client properties, to job specifications
• Carry out technical pruning services using correct pruning techniques for the plant material
• Identify and treat insect and disease damage
• Provide customer service to clients on-site, keeping them informed about services provided
• Participate in Villani Landshapers snow removal program during the winter months
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of southern Wisconsin plant material
• Wisconsin 3.0 pesticide license (or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire)
• Ability to identify and appropriately treat insect and disease damage to plant material
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
• Ability to perform physical labor continually for up to 12 hours a day, in a variety of changing weather conditions
• Adheres to company policies and procedures
• Bilingual a plus
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with ability to maintain an insurable driving record
