Fast growing trees with wide spreading root systems should never be planted too near your home. Roots can cause damage to your homes foundation and possibly your roof too.
Ballfield Renovation Project
Each year, WLCA partners with Spring Valley to provide much needed fall renovation work to area youth ballfields. Through this partnership, Spring Valley provides the fertilizer and WLCA Metro Milwaukee members provide the labor to aerate and fertilize area ballfields that are in need of some TLC. This program is an excellent opportunity for WLCA Metro Milwaukee members to give back to their local communities.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
√ Find a ballfield in your area that is in need of renovation – typically these are community parks, but can be any ballfield in need of some TLC.
√ Contact the field owner to arrange for the work to be performed. This includes displaying a sign for the upcoming season which recognizes your company, WLCA Metro Milwaukee and Spring Valley for the work and product provided.
√ Once you have the agreement of the field owner to perform the work, contact the WLCA Metro Milwaukee office via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with a subject line of “Healthy Turf Healthy Kids” and provide the following information:
♦ Your company name.
♦ The contact information for the person from your organization responsible for the project – this should include name, email address and phone number.
♦ Name and location of ballfield(s).
♦ Estimated size of ballfield(s).
♦ Digital (jpg file) of your company logo to be used on signs that are displayed. This must be included even if you have participated in the past.
♦ There is no limit to the number of ballfields your company can renovate.
♦ If you have participated in the past and are doing the same ballfield, please indicate in the email you send to the WLCA Metro Milwaukee office if you still have the sign to use from a previous year or if you are need of a new sign.
♦ You are responsible for the installation of the sign and storing the sign for the winter.
